Welcome to Irving Public
We opened Irving Public in the Jersey City Heights in 2022. Taking over the longtime staple The Blarney Pub, we jumped at the opportunity to make the space an homage to our home city and state. Inspired by the taverns of New York and New Jersey, the kitchen serves house-smoked pastrami and turkey, as well as other bar-and-grill favorites, including burgers, wings, and nachos—all served alongside our house-brined pickles and, of course, ice-cold beer.
We Are Smokin’!
Our pastrami is house-brined, rubbed, smoked, and steamed. Order it straight up on rye with yellow mustard, like God intended, or as a Reuben sandwich, griddled with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing.
Game Day specials include baby back ribs, hot dogs, and jalapeño poppers.
Don’t miss our traditional bar-and-grill favorites! We offer everything from Buffalo wings to nachos and more, as well as a late-night menu to keep the good times going into the wee hours.
Drinks at the Bar
The cocktail list takes its names from the neighborhood, including the Hancock Old Fashioned, Summit Sunset, and Lincoln Lychee. We also feature spritzes, wine, and nonalcoholic beers.
On draft, we pour several New Jersey breweries, including Kane’s Head High and 902 Brewing’s Chilltown Crusher, alongside a proper pint of Guinness and other familiar favorites. Join us for a game or event, or grab some takeout!

Bring Irving Public to an office lunch, celebration or party. Our catering menu offers a selection of our most popular large format offerings. Wings, Chicken Fingers, Smoked Sandwich Platters, Sliders, you name it!
